USPS 2026 Holiday Shipping Deadlines for Card Sellers

USPS recommends shipping by Thursday, December 17, 2026 with Ground Advantage or First-Class Mail, Friday, December 18 with Priority Mail, and Saturday, December 19 with Priority Mail Express for delivery before December 25 in the lower 48 states (USPS). These are recommended dates, not guarantees. If you sell cards online, plan to ship a few days earlier.

Hanukkah runs December 4 to 12 this year, so gift orders for it need to go out much earlier (USPS).

Tips for card sellers in December

Set buyer expectations. Put your last ship-by date for Christmas delivery in your listings or store announcement. Use the USPS dates as the outer limit, then add the days your own handling time takes.
Upgrade close to the deadline. After about Dec 15, Priority Mail is the safer choice for anything a buyer is counting on for Christmas.
